New review for the Cuarteto Emispherio recording of «Cuarteto con Oboe» by Jesús Torres

Many thanks to Celia Craig for her review in the British Double Reed Society Double Reed News magazine, Spring 2022, issue 131.

«…The unanimity of the musicians in this demanding work is impressive. Excellent and consistent intonation colours the sparse, floating harmonic language while the various instrumental tones are equally pure and blend well, with a satisfying precision and instrumental balance plus beautifully clear recording quality…….Sarah’s playing is impeccable throughout her range, with a keen yearning, mellow sound….. This oboe quartet by Jesus Torres deserves to be more widely known ……this precise, considered and unified 2019 recording brings both an interesting and worthy composer and a mature and unified chamber group to wider prominence.»
